Locus provides standard, custom and OEM products based on
its proprietary radionavigation and timing technologies. Founded
in 1979, Locus has designed, supplied, and supported the highest
quality wireless and radionavigation products for major companies
and government agencies including Motorola, American Meter
Company, Rockwell Collins, Leica Geosystems, Atlas Elektronik,
Nicolet, the United States Coast Guard and the Federal Aviation
Administration.
During its years as a contract engineering firm working for
major companies, Locus designed and manufactured numerous
radio products, including differential GPS radiobeacon receivers,
CDMA base station synchronization receivers, handheld meter
reading systems, RF ID tags, etc. Locus also developed a proprietary
product line of frequency hopping and direct sequence spread
spectrum radios for industrial applications. Locus has recently
sold its spread spectrum product line to ProSoft Technology
Inc. in order to concentrate on its proprietary Loran product
line.
